DIY REDO

This canvas I painted last spring to go in our den, it was a painting I had gotten at rooms-to-go years ago that was in my attic being unused....so of course I spray painted it.  I decided to repaint it this weekend to go in our spare bedroom.

I wanted a really basic design on it this time, I am using it as somewhat of a headboard in our spare bedroom. The room has a retro mod feel to it.

1. I spray painted it one neutral color or you can prime it (I did not have primer)

2. Covered canvas in one of two colors I was using 

 3. I used painters tape to tape off stripes (remember area you tape off will remain base color)

The NEW house - Ranchero De Hal Dyer

So the MOVE is done...

along with all the remodeling but the unpacking in not yet complete. 

The next few months will be spent unpacking HAPPILY! This move has been so wonderful and the house is ABSOLUTELY what we ALWAYS dreamed of!

THE DEN
We cut a hole in the wall that divides the den and the kitchen. It gives the room a much more open feeling

We used Sherwin Williams 

(It was worth the few bucks per gallon for the quality)

MASTER BATH

It was TINY....We are bath takers so a BIG bath is much needed!! 

We had to knock out a wall to the closet and extend the bathroom for our new 6 foot tub! 

For the floors we went with Vinyl Faux Hardwoods. Larry is a dirty boy and I hate grout and cleaning it! The vinyl holds up really well and there are no grooves to scrub.

(DIY TIP: We installed the VINYL HARDWOOD PLANKS  ourselves from the Home Depot. SUPER EASY and fast! It lays on top of the sub-floor and uses no glue! They hold up great and are Water Safe)

What You Need:

Item to cover

Mod Podge and Patterns

(I bought the patterns at the thrift store for .39 each)

Use sponge and cover small area with mod podge, then place sheets on area.

Cover entire area with pattern. Then apply mod podge to top of patterns one this coat at a time.)

(Mod Podge can be glue and sealant)

A gun rack for your magazines.

For Christmas I made Larry a Gun/Magazine rack out of an old wine rack...Thanks to my mom and dad!

Yep, Christmas is over but who cares!!

Still Have to Stain it....but this dog will hunt!

A NEW Chapter begins...

It has been a dream of Larry and mine's since we met to have a house in the country with enough land for Larry's shop, my hobbies, our dogs and ALL of our friends ....and WE FINALLY HAVE IT!!!!

The house sits on almost 5 acres and was built in 1934. It has everything we both wanted...for Larry, enough land for HIS shop and all of the shenanigans that comes with his friends and their toys. He wanted to be far out away from people who will call the po-po's for noise! For me, I wanted an old house (with HUGE base boards: ), an open floor plan for entertaining, a country style exterior and big front porch! There are so many other things I wanted too....but I won't bore you with all of them.

Larry said I could do whatever on the design..PINCH ME!!!
